about Alison McLeod Afterschool Football...
Alison McLeod Afterschool Football was set up after I had gained an HND in Sports Coaching in 2002. Among the sports we trained in was football, which has always been a passion of mine since going to Pittodrie from the age of 11 to watch Aberdeen FC play
While I was at college two classes of P2/3 football became available at Kingswells Community Centre, and I jumped at the chance to take them. After finishing college I started doing more classes at Kingswells for P1/2's and after a couple of years began football for pre-school children.
When an opportunity to start classes arose at Airyhall Community Centre three years ago, I took the opportunity and now have all age groups there.
The classes are run by myself and are term-time only. The main aim is for the children to learn basic football skills and have fun while doing it.
The Tiny Tot classes are for children aged 2 1/2 up to 3 1/2 and parents are required to take part. The pre-school classes are for ages 3 1/2 until the start of school.
